Cheryl Tennant Humes graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Bloomsburg University and later went on to get her Juris Doctor degree from Widener University in 2005. Ms. Tennant Humes joined Zipp & Tannenbaum, LLC, a law firm specializing in real property taxation, redevelopment law, and other real property litigation, in October of 2015. In her most recent previous employment, Ms. Tennant Humes operated a general civil practice in Pennsylvania, with a focus on the representation of both parents and children in dependency and family law matters, including the valuation and division of business and pension assets in divorce cases.
Ms. Tennant Humes has represented clients in real estate transactions as well as federal municipal liability and civil rights cases. She has served as an assistant to the former solicitor of Susquehanna University where she participated in advising the University on a variety of issues, including employment law, transactional, property acquisition and student life matters. Ms. Tennant Humes also provided assistance to a municipality in exploring funding options and joint private/public ventures to reduce costs to the township on an infrastructure project.
In addition to her experience in the field of law, Ms. Tennant Humes is a pianist who has performed as a recitalist and as an accompanist for master classes, choral, opera and theater companies in venues such as the Kunsthalle in Bonn and Carnegie Hall.
